Apolipoprotein B (apo B) in human plasma is a major protein of low density lipoproteins (LDL). The molecular mass is 260 kDa. Apo B binds to specific receptors on cell membranes and is involved in removal of LDL and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterol from circulation.
Human LDL adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide gel
HYB 069-02 is specific for apo B from human serum/plasma. No cross-reactivity is seen with human apolipoprotein A-1.
Epitope differs from that of HYB 069-03 and HYB 069-04
HYB 069-02 reacts with apo B from human serum/plasma, when used in sandwich ELISA in combination with a polyclonal antibody against apo B, and also with isolated LDL directly coated onto the microtiter plate.
In Western blotting after SDS-PAGE HYB 069-02 binds to apo B in reduced as well as in non-reduced forms, using isolated LDL as antigen.
