EPO decides to issue BioPorto’s NGAL cutoff patent on November 11, 2009
On November 11, 2009, the European Patent Office (EPO) will publish its decision to issue BioPorto’s NGAL cutoff patent in the European Patent Bulletin 09/46. The decision is thereby final and immediately after translations will be submitted in all the countries of Europe. The patents will subsequently be issued in the individual countries.
The issuance of BioPorto’s NGAL cutoff patent, EP 1 831 699, is an important milestone for the company. Not only does the issuance mark the termination of the recent dispute about rights, but it also enables BioPorto to enforce the rights in case of infringement on BioPorto’s rights to measurement of NGAL as a marker for acute kidney injury.
